At Fishing For Faith Foundation, we recognize the transformative power of fishing and faith, especially for those who serve our communities and country. Our mission is to provide a space where first responders, military veterans, and individuals struggling with PTSD can find healing, hope, and fellowship through the simple yet powerful act of fishing.
The Fishing for Faith Foundation offers a unique opportunity to reconnect with nature, one another, and God, offering several benefits for those facing the challenges of PTSD, trauma, and the emotional toll of service to our First Responders and Military Veterans:
Peaceful Escape from Everyday Stress
Fishing provides a serene, calm environment that helps individuals escape the constant pressures of daily life. For first responders and military veterans, who often deal with high-stress situations, the stillness of the water can bring much-needed relief. It’s a moment of peace in a world that often feels overwhelming, allowing the mind and body to rest and reset.
Strengthening Bonds through Fellowship
Fishing brings people together in a way few other activities do. The shared experience of casting lines and waiting patiently builds a sense of camaraderie. Our trips create opportunities for veterans, first responders, and those with PTSD to connect with others who understand their struggles. It’s a chance to bond over shared experiences, forging lasting friendships that provide ongoing support and understanding.
Spiritual Healing
For many, fishing is more than just a sport — it’s an opportunity to connect spiritually. As participants immerse themselves in nature, they experience moments of reflection and solitude that can be deeply healing. The foundation’s mission is rooted in faith, offering a space where participants can reflect, pray, and experience God’s presence in a meaningful way. This spiritual aspect provides emotional strength and grounding for those who may feel disconnected or lost.
Rebuilding Confidence and Resilience
For those struggling with PTSD, confidence and hope can feel distant. Fishing offers a non-judgmental space to regain trust in oneself and in others. The process of preparing, casting, and eventually catching a fish can be a powerful metaphor for rebuilding resilience. It teaches participants to be patient, to trust in the process, and to have faith that, even in challenging times, success is possible.
Emotional Release and Healing
The quiet, rhythmic action of fishing allows individuals to let go of emotional burdens. Being outdoors in a calm, natural setting promotes relaxation, reduces anxiety, and encourages emotional healing. For those with PTSD, these outings can provide a safe space for emotional release, helping to process trauma in a supportive and understanding environment.
Promoting Physical and Mental Well-being
Fishing promotes physical health by encouraging time outdoors, in the fresh air and sun, which is vital for overall well-being. The physical activity involved in fishing, even in its more subtle form, helps alleviate stress, and the focus required during fishing has a grounding effect on the mind, improving mental clarity and well-being.
A Chance to Give Back
The Fishing For Faith Foundation’s programs also allow participants to contribute to their communities, whether through volunteering or helping others who are new to the program. Giving back creates a sense of purpose and fulfillment, helping individuals regain a sense of control and empowerment.
By casting a line, you are casting hope — finding comfort in community, healing through reflection, and restoring faith in yourself and in others. If you or someone you know could benefit from our programs, we invite you to join us in this journey of healing and renewal.

"When you cast your cares on Him, He will guide your path..." Together, we fish for faith and healing.
At Fishing for Faith, our mission doesn’t end at the shoreline. Through our Faith Through Action initiative, we actively participate in local, regional, and national bass fishing tournaments—not just for the love of the sport, but to turn every catch into a contribution that makes a difference.
For every tournament we fish, 100% of the winnings are matched dollar-for-dollar by the Fishing for Faith Foundation. The combined amount is donated directly to one of our trusted partner charity organizations through our “Donation Rotation” program.
But our commitment doesn’t stop when the leaderboard does. Even in tournaments where no prize money is earned, we still give. We match the tournament entry fee and donate that total to the current rotation’s partner charity—because for us, it’s never about what we win on the water, but what we give from the heart.
This is more than tournament fishing—it’s faith through action. Every cast becomes a cause. Every competition becomes an opportunity to serve. And every dollar raised becomes a blessing for someone in need.
Whether you are a fellow angler, a supporter of our mission, or someone whose life has been touched by one of these incredible organizations, you’re part of a greater purpose—where faith, fishing, and philanthropy work together to heal and uplift.
