The purpose of "Fishing For Faith..." is fishing, interacting, sharing, and healing. "Fishing For Faith..." organizes and plans fishing day trips and provides fishing therapy for PTSD and TBI for Veterans, Active duty service members, 1st responders and Gold Star families. Studies have shown that Fishing has mental health benefits; being in nature can improve your mood and also has positive long term effects on depression and memory. "Fishing For Faith..." brings together participants who could be in need of interacting with others while sharing a day together, building friendships and self-esteem.

The issue of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) amongst the veteran & 1st Responder community is extensive. According to the National Center for PTSD, between 11 – 20% of military personnel who served in Iraq suffer from PTSD, whilst it is estimated that 30% of veterans of the Vietnam War will suffer from PTSD at some point in their l
The issue of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) amongst the veteran & 1st Responder community is extensive. According to the National Center for PTSD, between 11 – 20% of military personnel who served in Iraq suffer from PTSD, whilst it is estimated that 30% of veterans of the Vietnam War will suffer from PTSD at some point in their lifetime too. However, according to a recent study, fishing has shown to benefit veterans & 1st Responders with PTSD in their rehabilitation process.
In order to better understand how recreational fishing can help alleviate symptoms of PTSD, "Fishing For Faith..." conducted a study into how fishing plays an important role in the emotional rehabilitation of thousands of veterans, providing an alternative to conventional medical treatment.
"Fishing For Faith..." has found that both fishing, and involvement in fishing-related social media channels, positively affect mental wellbeing amongst veterans, active duty service members, 1st responders, and Gold Star families.
